In order to further take advantage of Macao’s role as the service platform between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries, to give full play to Macao’s role as a link between China and the Lusophone, and to strengthen the cooperation in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship, Parafuturo de Macau Investment and Development Limited (PFM) signed strategic co-operation agreement with the São Tomé and Príncipe Entrepreneurship Directorate (Direção do Empreendedorismo de São Tomé e Príncipe) on 20th October 2023. Under the agreement, the parties expect to develop cooperation in the areas of incubation of entrepreneurial projects, organisation of entrepreneurship related activities and development of entrepreneurial ecosystem resources, so as to achieve complementarity of strengths and sharing of resources, and to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem linking the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Portuguese-Speaking Countries.
The signing ceremony was held at the 28th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair at noon on the 20th, where the Executive Director of PFM, Mr. Carlos Lam Ka Vai, signed the agreement with the President of the São Tomé and Príncipe Entrepreneurship Directorate, Mr. Admilton Teixeira, on the internet.
PFM and São Tomé and Príncipe Entrepreneurship Directorate, committed to identifying and introducing suitable entrepreneurial resources for each other’s proposed entrepreneurial projects, and to establish a long-term partnership through diversified co-operation in the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship services between the two places. The São Tomé and Príncipe authority, for its part, will build bridges for cooperation between PFM and local universities, government agencies, incubators and youth enterprises, including assisting PFM in selecting high-quality entrepreneurial projects for the annual innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and other activities organised or hosted by PFM, while PFM will help enterprises from São Tomé and Príncipe seek for more exposure to pitch roadshows, business matchings and other available opportunities for the entrepreneurs.
